Masterson’s Pub , located in the heart of Moonee Ponds , promotes itself as a chic “hipster” locale , but my most recent experience at this establishment quickly devolved into an unforgettable, terrible experience. While the bar may seem appealing from the exterior , what I discovered behind its entrance was appalling and beyond comprehension .
Cleanliness Issues : Unhygienic and Neglected
From the moment I crossed the threshold, it was evident that hygiene was not a priority at this bar . The ground was covered in grime , and a nauseating aroma of uncleaned spills and uncleaned toilets filled the entire venue . With a smell of a mixture of ammonia , old age and sickness . The serving zone , which should be the focal point of any pub, was piled high with used mugs and trash that looked like it had been ignored for a long time . The lavatory was in even a more revolting state — spilling over , with a shattered handle and walls stained in what I can only assume was feces.

For a business that provides refreshments , these issues are utterly disgraceful and raise serious concerns about the safety of anything they serve .

During my time there, I observed how distressed several female guests seemed around Cornwell.
